Thought there would be more days for just figuring out the university and how it works. But now. Second day and rushing to the first classes right away. I knew what classes I was going to, but for some database management error reason they weren’t able to hand me the curriculum yesterday to see the class rooms to go. There are some 40 buildings at the campus so I didn’t go out there and try my luck with the buildings.
Stopped at the International affairs office to get my curriculum and then headed to the right class room. First impression of Korean way of study and the teaching methods is way different than back home, Finland. Local students barely can communicate in English, although they seem to be very scrupulous towards any assignments or tasks handed by the teacher in English. As I am a Finnish university student the teachers seem kind of babysit the students and there aren’t much responsibility given for students.
My responsibilities were done at 5.00 PM, as the Operation system principles – class of mine ended. We had agreed to meet in front of our dormitory with the other exchange students, eat the dinner at the dorm cafeteria and head to the city! And that we did..!
Regards
Henri
