On yesterday I run up with this Korean guy Chiyeong living in our corridor. We agreed to meet at the downtown on 10 AM as I needed my passports photos to be taken since I forgot to take them with me for the student ID card. I was a bit late, cos’ I didn’t realize how much time would it took to travel from Keimyung to the downtown.
I got there, and we had a little walking tour around the city. Visited this one park near the Daegu City Center, the building, where I managed to find Finland on this huge marble earth. We walked by, and I was amazed about the number of shoe stores, telephone stores and kitten stores there were on the street! They were like everywhere you went! We visited this one telephone company, in which they told that I needed this alien registration card to open my own Korean telephone account. I remember they said something about this alien registration card on the papers they sent me to Finland...
Ok I got back to my dorm, and studied the papers. Well I was almost there, but needed the insurance photocopy and copy of my medical certificate on Monday, March 1st. I had to go search a place where you can print. I went to the campus library, and it was a mess. Nobody spoke English. Like nobody. It was quite a surprise as we were on a diverse international campus, international student body of about thousand or more. It took me over half an hour to get the prints. Had to find the computer classroom, my password to log in to the computers, the computers and the keyboards were set only in Hangul (the Korean alphabet), I needed this some weird different account to get the prints on going. But I got it done!
At the library I met this one Otto guy from Finland, from the very same university that I’m from, LUT. He was having like a campus tour with his Korean roommate. We decided to hit this one department store near the east gate of the campus as we both needed some material to our dorm rooms.
Got back to my room and few hours later my roommate Tyler got there to say hello. He is Korean, but his name is too difficult to pronounce, so this is his nickname. We had a little chit chat, and he was off again. I really started to feel little relieved, as most of the variables seemed to getting settled up. Few beers at the local bar didn’t felt like a bad idea...
Regards
