Midterm time!.
It was time for the course midterms this week, which we were fully prepared ourselves last weekend in China. Here in the Keimyung University we have midterms and finals in almost every course, so it’s more like U.S. style skill measurement system they have here. I wasn’t worried, I had participated well in every class, so my expectations were high.
Besides that my week was pretty boring, caught a cold again. Damn. Well the Korean language teacher provided lunch to students on Friday after midterm, but that’s all my adventures for this week. On weekend my condition got a little better, so I decided to use my time efficiently and compiled a video out of our first weeks in Korea. You can find the video in the ”Videos”-part of my blog.
Because I got nothing more to say, I thought I would talk a little about weird Korean habits they have here. It isn’t uncommon to see Koreans here in Daegu doing following things:
– washing teeth in every imaginable place, for example in subway & hallway at noon
– living in a relationship with their phone. Seriously c’mon!
– using sneakers with suit
– walking together both arms wrapped around the spouse
Here is this one Korean, who even plays soccer with his phone, and when somebody passes the ball to him and yells, he puts his phone away for a while. But after passing the ball forward he takes his phone again and keeps running headless on the field with his phone. Seriously. And in the subway, you can see people carrying extra batteries for their phone just in case their battery runs out. Everybody is staring their phones in the subway. Everybody. It amuses me every time I see it.

Henri
