On Saturday we had these KELI-house mini-Olympics at the field in front of our dorm. The entire KELI-house has been divided into teams, and they were competing each other. Every team was supposed to come up with marching performance to enter the games, so our team practiced few hours last Friday night, and few hours on the Saturday morning. We were doing this dance in the Korean song ”Block B – Nanrina”. Still we weren’t even close the best team there were, other teams had practiced like a maniacs! Cheers for that!

We competed in games ”stretching legs”, ”tug of war”, ”three-legged-race”, ”relay-with-balloon”, ”chicken fight” and some extra performances people wanted to do. I even did my first backflip in few years on flat land cos’ the host of the Olympics were asking ”is there any other performances teams want to do to increase their points” so I had to take one for the team! We had a good time, had a pizza-lunch at the field and our team even finished second! Jeyy!

One thing I am embarrassed of.. I have been here in Korea now for 43 days and I haven’t had sauna yet! There are few saunas even here in Daegu..! We were planning to go this one sauna near the campus on Sunday, but after the KELI-Olympics we decided to change our plans and hit the sauna. The sauna were a bit different than the Finnish one.. Of course we didn’t get to throw water to the kiuas (=heater) to get löyly (=steam), temperature were milder BUT we still got to drink beers at the sauna. Cheers for the managing staff! They were very kind in every way and welcome us come back some other time!

After sauna we headed to downtown and finally after few detours we ended up to this place they sell only full bottles of strong alcohol. I’m not sure if the same concept is going to work back in Finland, but I really liked that place! I think we deserved few shots after the KELI-olympics..

Regards

Henri
