Last time I came to the DMZ I was dumb and didn’t took the JSA tour in which you can enter the blue buildings at the Panmunjom. Half of the every house is built on the North Korea’s side of the MDL (Military Demarcation Line), half of the house is built on the South Korea’s side. So we went inside and we could cross the MDL and hop to the North Korea. Hop!
Atmosphere was tensed. We had so sign this paper which said that ”The visit to the Joint Security Area at Panmunjom will entail the entrance into hostile area and the possibility of injury or death as a direct result of enemy action.”
There was these news about both Koreas firing rounds to each other’s side on yesterday (Monday, March 31th) and besides that we were told that one Soviet union citizen crossed the MDL outside the blue buildings on November 1984 which started a firefight between UNC and North Korea, resulting 9 KPA and 1 South Korean soldier dead.
Evening was awesome and more peaceful since we headed to the residence of the ambassador of Finland to Korea. It was absurd to see the Finnish flag waving on front of the residence. Caterings were staggering, there were smoked salmon, some karjalanpiirakka, traditional meat balls etc. so for a little time it almost felt like you were in Finland!
I run up with this Juho from Finland at the ambassador’s residence. He said he is studying at Seoul, and that he is an ex-classmate of my brother. Well, how about that.. long time no see!

Henri
