Yesterday’s last thought of mine was ”please let me be healthy again”. That almost happened, but still I had a little sore throat. Otherwise I was feeling pretty normal. Okay not like ready for 10 km jog but pretty normal. I really wanted to get off from my dorm room as I had been there for 2 and half days now. Straight. Plans for the day was to go to downtown, find a new deodorant for me, have a lunch and go to see some movie.

Ron from U.S. came along with me. Now that you’re wondering why I mentioned the deodorant, I got to say that not every small market here have deodorants. Actually I tried to find one from these smaller markets near campus, but no. These convenience stores all over the city doesn’t have deodorants either. Where the ¿!«–!& Koreans by their deodorants then!?!

It seemed that I had done my homework pretty badly. This popular video blog ”Eat your kimchi” created by a Canadian couple basically telling ”How to survive here in Korea” pointedly stated that Koreans don’t smell naturally and they don’t use deodorants. The couple had been here in Korea from 2008, and they were saying that only in last few years the deodorant selection has grown enough to call it really a selection. There was even a black market for deodorants back then when they arrived here.

And what about me finding the deodorant then? I got one, but it’s super small, and cost like 10 €. I should have bought few extra from Finland..

Regards

Henri
