On Thursday I had a million in cash in my wallet. But unfortunately in local currency, the Korean wons. The dormitory fee was supposed to be paid before end of this Friday, so I asked a friend of my buddy to come and show how it is done. My buddy was on some sort of assignment trip in China, so he wasn’t able to show it.

I got most of the sum from airport exchange before we entered the bank, and I was about to withdraw some money from my Finnish account. First the ATM apparently tried to tell that my Nordea’s MasterCard is invalid here, and then the cashier repeated the same. Of course in Korean, and the friend of mine was translating it as well as he could. We came to a solution that the local friend of mine borrowed the rest, and I got the fee paid.

We had planned to go have a dinner off campus. Thursday’s classes were over, but so were my healthy days. On our way to the restaurant, I started to feel really stuffy and feverish. My throat was killing me on the dinner. Thursday night, Friday and the Welcoming party arranged by International affairs office on the Friday night were cancelled for me.
